Native to South America, Bougainvillea flowers all year round. They grow to 12 metres (39 feet) in height depending on the species. It is not the flowers that are colorful; the magenta bracts are the ones that stand out. Their flowers are tiny and white in color. The bracts come in shades of pink, purple, red, yellow, white, salmon and orange. It is Grenada's national flower.
